But, due to the public authorities' policy, we have to be supported by private funds to enable us to maintain that standard, our degree of performance and to remain among the best famed health centres in Belgium.
Some specialists in CHIREC are involved in major scientific societies; some others assume teaching and research in Belgian universities and even worldwide.
Public Belgian hospitals are subsidized by federal funds and ministries. Time has come to point out the clinical research performed in our hospital.
The C.A.R.E. Foundation should offer the appropriate environment to our clinical investigations.

Therefore, five years after CHIREC was created, numerous physicians and members of the nursing and paramedical staff wanted to create what is highly necessary for any Institution : to have a scientific research unit, in order to be able to offer a high quality private medicine to its patients.
Most physicians practising at CHIREC are aware how essential study and research is in order to maintain the excellence of the expertise.
The CARE Foundation is the response to this objective and to the necessity to invest in innovation and research, in order to maintain the quality of the health care and of the clinical, surgical and therapeutic activities, as well as of the technical and paramedical acts. At the same time, publications on these activities can ensure a greater fame to CHIREC.
The Foundation has an autonomous management inside CHIREC, though operating in perfect synergy with this Institution, with the support of its authorities.
